Two of the best spots are the lakeside promenade around the Kawaguchiko Music Forest and the small Ubuyagasaki peninsula next to the Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge. Visibility of Mount Fuji is usually best in the early morning.

About 1000 cherry trees are planted on a dike along a river, stretching for about one kilometer. There are multiple trails under and besides the trees to take in the seasonal spectacle. In addition, the riverside is lined by fields of rapeseed flowers that bloom around the same time. The park is a 30 minute walk or short bus ride from Satte Station along the Tobu Nikko Line, an hour train ride north of Tokyo.

Kumagaya City

Similar to the above-mentioned Gongendo Park, Kumagaya Sakura Tsutsumi is a riverside cherry blossom spot with a row of about 500 trees, lined by rapeseed flowers. The park can be reached conveniently in a 10 minute walk from Kumagaya Station, which is directly connected to Tokyo by shinkansen and local trains in 30-70 minutes.

Gunma Prefecture

Akagi Senbonzakura is located about halfway up Mount Akagi to the north of central Maebashi. It features a two kilometer long road lined with over 1000 cherry trees that form a beautiful cherry blossom tunnel when in bloom. Pink moss in the open fields beside the cherry trees also bloom at around the same time, combining with the cherry blossoms to provide breathtaking views of various hues of pink.
