Starting off the best photo locations Paris list is Trocadero or Place Du Trocadero. Probably one of the most famous locations on this list, but this large square located across the Seine River is a must-see in Paris.

From Trocadero, you can find so many unique photo locations, all with the Eiffel Tower sparkling in the background! Speaking of the Eiffel Tower, check out my secret Eiffel Tower photo locations post for even more locations.

Some of the most popular areas to snap photos in Trocadero is on the main square, and on the staircases that lead down to the Trocadero Gardens.

This location is very busy, especially during the afternoon so getting a photo on the main square with no one in it will be near to impossible. However, in the early morning, it should be less busy. You’ll find other photographers there at the same time.

Tip: Because of the popularity of this location, I would be extra vigilant on your belongings here. Just keep your belongings in front of you. This is a popular place for pickpockets.

2. Sacre Coeur

The Sacre Coeur Basilica is located in the 18th arrondissem*nt in Paris, which is one of the highest points of the city, and offers one the best free views of Paris. You’ll see a photos of the famous Sacre Coeur View, and it’s exactly why it’s on this best Instagram Spots in Paris list.

What Area in Paris is Sacre Coeur?

The Sacre Coeur is in the trendy village of Montmartre, which is famous for being the center for artists, the Moulin Rouge cabaret. Now this area has cool bars and eateries and is popular amongst tourists and locals alike.

How to Get up Sacre Coeur:

You can reach this neighborhood from the Metro on multiple lines. The most common is the Abbesses stop on the 12, or the Anvers stop on the 2. From there you will have to walk up some steps to reach the top of Montmartre.

Best Places to Take Photos: You can find a lot of unique angles to take photos of the Sacre Coeur.

  • Carrousel de Saint-Pierre: below the steps of the basilica is a beautiful carousel that adds a fun charm to your photo.
  • Steps of Sacre Coeur: Snap some photos on the steps walking up the hill. You’ll be in for plenty of views.
  • Sinking House: Once you reach the top of the steps, you will find a famous optical illusion called the “Sinking House” If you turn your head to the side it will look like this building is crooked.
  • Behind Sacre Coeur: Once at the top, be sure to take in the views, but also explore around the back. You will find quite charming streets and more photo locations of Sacre Coeur.

3. La Maison Rose

This rose-colored cafe probably has shown up on your Instagram feed more than once. La Maison Rose is located in Montmartre, just a short walk from Sacre Coeur.

But not only is it just a cute pink cafe but there is also a lot of history tied to it. Opened in 1905, Picasso, Modigliani is some of the many artists who frequented this spot, and still to this day remains a cafe.

The surrounding area on this quiet cobblestone street is worth the stroll. It’s one of the most picturesque areas in Paris.

La Maison Rose is closed on Tuesdays which means if you want to take photos with no one there, Tuesday will be a great day. Or if you wanted to enjoy the cafe, plan accordingly.

4. Le Consulat

Another historic cafe in Montmartre, Le Consulat was also home to many artists in the 19th Century. If you wanted to have lunch here, it does get pretty busy on the weekends. If you can try to visit on a weekday.

Just in front of Le Consulat is an adorable souvenir shop selling 19th-century posters from the famous artists that used to frequent the area including Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. This spot is perfect for a photo-op.

5. Pink Mamma Paris

One of the best photo spots in Paris is Pink Mamma, an Italian restaurant located near the Montmartre neighborhood. Every corner in this multilevel restaurant is designed beautifully. And if you can try to make a reservation for the top floor that has windows overlooking Paris.

And not only is this Paris restaurant super Instagramable, the food and service are also amazing! First, you can not leave without trying the burrata, and the truffle pasta & truffle pizza. Every time I am in Paris I have to go back.

Also, a reservation here is a must! It is popular during lunch and dinner on any day of the week, so your best bet is to plan ahead to visit this location.

6. Palais Royal

Nestled in the 1st arrondissem*nt of Paris is Palais Royal. It was home toCardinal Richelieu and later a childhood home of Louis XIV. While you can no longer go inside, you can enjoy the gardens and the famous neat square that is home to the unique striped columns art installation.

7. Seine River

There is nothing more beautiful than watching the sunset on the Seine River. My favorite ritual when I am in Paris is to buy a bottle of bubbly, and some snacks to enjoy the moment right on the river.

One of the best locations to set up your picnic is near Pont du Carrousel bridge. From this location, you’ll have the stunning Lourve in your view. Combined with the sunset is just so romantic.

And because the Seine river flows through all of Paris, you can take another Paris Instagram Spot overlooking the many bridges you pass.

Other Option: If you prefer to see the sunset by boat, you can also take the classic Bateaux Parisians boat tour and cruise along the seine river for another perspective.

Get the Dress Here: Lulus

Ready for one of the most stunning rooms you are ever going to see? Opera Garnier Paris is a must-see when in Paris. The intricate design looks like a smaller Hall of Mirrors in Versailles but is much closer to get to.

Not only do you see the stunning foyer room, your ticket includes you roaming around the entire Opera House, including a balcony overlooking Avenue de l’Opera.

This is also the home setting to the Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux.

Plus, this is a great budget-friendly activity with a self-guided ticket price per adult is $13.

Tip: To have this room all to yourself, try to come during the opening hours. However, I came during the afternoon and waited patiently for a break from tourists. I managed to get no one in my photo.

9. Cafe de Flore

Cafe de Flore is one of the oldest coffeehouses in Paris and is such an iconic place in the Saint Germain neighborhood in Paris. Beautiful ivy decorates the entire restaurant which makes photos here a must.

Also if you like people watching, this is the perfect place to do so. Even famous artists in the past did the same.

10. Wall of Love

The Wall of Love is an art wall located in Montmartre, just outside the 12 Abbesses stop. This wall is famous for having the word “love’ written in every language. It’s fun looking for your own language and recognizing other languages you know.

It took me a while to find the English version, but it’s fun to see how many languages you can count. Make it a game with whoever you are with to see who knows the most.

11. Bir Hakeim Bridge

A beautiful spot to capture the Eiffel tower is the Bir Hakeim Bridge that crosses over the Seine River. You’ll find plenty of people doing the same, but it’s definitely worth checking out.

There is a pedestrian area you can walk on to take pictures, but just be on the lookout for bicyclists.

12. Odette Paris

Odette Paris is a famous pastry shop selling decadent cream puffs! They even have cream puff towers to purchase- sign me up for that! Be sure to try a cream puff when you are here.

I particularly love this street because it looks like a Parisian dream with the beautiful architecture and the cobblestone streets. It’s also located in a quiet area in Paris so you most likely will have the whole street to yourself!

13. Notre Dame Cathedral

One of the best examples of Gothic Architecture is Notre Dame Cathedral. The construction started in 1163 and took 200 years to complete. Be sure to go inside to see the interior of this stunning Cathedral.

14. Au Vieux

This quint building is one of Paris’s oldest buildings! This home was built in 1512 is now a popular French Restaurant. The inside of this restaurant is worth checking out. It looks like a place from another time.

Fun Fact: Depending on which season you visit, the exterior will be fully decorated to match. I went during the fall, and they matched the outside with cute pumpkins and fall decor.

15. Louvre Museum

Last but not least, one of the best Paris Instagram spots is the Louvre Museum. The contrast of the historic monument with the glass pyramid offers plenty of photographic angles.

Because this is one of the most famous places in Paris, there will be crowds you really can’t avoid. A sunrise here would be beautiful, and less crowded. But I opted to visit at night when it was less crowded, and I just loved how the pyramid illuminated the photo.

Dine at the Louvre: You can also opt to dine al fresco at Le Café Marly to get an unobstructed view of the Louvre. While it’s so picturesque, just know that this restaurant is not cheap.
