English[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Blend of biological + boy.
Noun[edit]
bioboy (plural bioboys)
- (informal) A cisgender boy or man.
2007, Reid Vanderburgh, Transition and Beyond: Observations on Gender Identity, →ISBN, page 143:
"I'm afraid I'll disappoint her by not being enough like a bioboy." Raymond was not talking about sex. He was finding it difficult to navigate issues such as, "Is she expecting me to hold the door for her?"
Usage notes[edit]
- The term is now sometimes considered derogatory to trans people, as it ignores the idea that being transgender also has a biological basis.
Translations[edit]
biological male
- Spanish: chico biológicom
