Update on Senior Tux and Drape Photos

We've had to make some changes to the on-campus option for senior tux and drape photos. Because of a few issues with the photographer and sharing the tuxes and drapes, we've had to change this to an off-campus activity. However, we have a few photographers who have been contacted and are willing to work with BK families to offer this photo on the same scheduled day (October 14th) at their studio and for a very discounted price. Please seeTHIS BLOG POSTfor specific information and who you should contact.

The most important thing is to know that you or your Senior will need to contact the photographer to schedule the time slot--this is not a walk-in appointment.

Please contact them as soon as possible so you can get scheduled. Photos are due by November 30th, whether you are using your own photographer or one of the ones listed on the flyer.

Senior quotes need to be submitted by November 30th.A link to the Google Form will also be sent out in September. The students will be reminded of this once we get closer to the date, and we will be asking for those submissions to be sent electronically via the Google Form.

Seniors will be able to create an account and log into Apply Idaho to see which Idaho colleges and/or universities they have been pre-accepted to based on their GPA. Students will still need to apply to those schools through the Apply Idaho application, or the school’s individual application. All Idaho schools have waived their application fee for Idaho high school students. This is a great opportunity to apply to one or more of the fine academic institutions in our state. We encourage all students to take advantage of the Apply Idaho application. Use this APPLY IDAHO LINK to watch a video explaining the process.

Senior College Application Blitz

On Wednesday, October 14, seniors will have a great opportunity to work on their college applications.

While this is technically a day off of school for them,we strongly encourage Seniors to come work on college applications that morning!

Counselors will have your EdUID, which has been assigned by the state and is needed to complete the Apply Idaho application. We can also help with Common App and other general college application questions. Senior English teachers will be available to help with essay proofreading. This is a great opportunity for seniors to get a head start (or complete) their college application process, so we hope to have a big crowd show up.

Please confirm the college you are interested in allows for in-person visits.Bishop Kelly allows students excused College Visit absences so they can check out a campus.Juniors and seniors are allowed five excused college visits per year.

FAFSA and CSS Profile

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application window opened October 1st, 2020 for current seniors planning on attending post secondary education opportunities in the fall of 2021.Some aid is based on a first come first served basis so we encourage you to complete the FAFSA early. The head of household filing taxes as well as the student applying for Federal Student Aid both need an individual FSA ID prior to completing the FAFSA . For more information about the FAFSA refer to this guideHow to apply for FAFSA and Federal Student Aid: Everything You Need to Know or contact Ms. Klover, our College and Career Counselor. Some schools also require the CSS Profile as a part of their financial aid application. This allows the colleges to look at other information that is not available on the FAFSA in an effort to obtain the best financial aid package for your student.Use this link to determine if the school you are applying to requires the CSS profile.

Your student’s Bishop Kelly account will be billed $95 per exam ($143 per exam for AP Capstone - AP Seminar or AP Research). There are substantial fees imposed by the College Board for late orders.
