What is the brand name Melissa? ›

The Brazilian heritage brand Melissa is the embodiment of nostalgia. When you open up a Melissa shoe box, you are met with a sweet bubblegum scent and a whimsically designed shoe that feels nothing but timeless.

Melissa was born out of disruption. We emerged in 1979 to transform plastic into classic, and classic into extraordinary. The Aranha style, inspired by the footwear worn by French Riviera fishermen, was an immediate success and has become a symbol for generation after generation.

Here we are, 20-something years later, and the jelly look has fully re-emerged. “With the momentum of the Y2K resurgence that we're seeing in fashion, jellies made their comeback as they are reminiscent of that era,” notes Julie Kraus, stylist and image consultant.
