Is a6400 good in 2022? ›

For bloggers, vloggers and independent content creators, the Sony A6400 is very good. Its still image quality is first rate, its 4K video is even better, and its 180-degree screen and eye-detect AF are handy for single-handed video capture.

It announced a production pause for the Sony Alpha a6400 mirrorless camera back in late November 2021, alongside similar production halts for the Sony a7 II and a6100. While those two cameras remain discontinued, the Sony a6400 is now back in production and available once more in Sony's home market.

The autofocus is quiet, fast, and overall reliable. This lens is a pretty versatile pick, and is great for many low-light situations: vlogging, video, and landscape. It's also great for astrophotography, even though it's not the best.

Because there are more frames per second, a 60fps video is more likely to capture twice as much underlying data as the 30fps. The other benefit of choosing a 60fps video speed is that you can slow down the video while keeping a higher quality of slow motion.

You can record movies in 120 fps or 100 fps.
